1st Asian Tourism Research Conference 2020

 

“Understanding the Landscape of Asian Tourism”

The recent transformation of tourism indicates that tourism is one of the fastest changing industries in the World. One of the most expected transformation of tourism is expected the significant growth and contribution of Asian tourism, especially the emerging economies of Asia. This growing trend has been fuelled by the transformation of the tourism industry to include the middle-class majority in Asia and Global South. The aspect of changes and transformation is a key research area in tourism. Therefore, the 1st Asian Tourism research conference jointly organized by Mahatma Gandhi University, Sunway University, Malaysia and Far Eastern University Philippines focuses on key transformative aspects of Asian tourism. To accomplish this, interdisciplinary inquiries into the details of the present Asian tourism scenario are a must. Every stakeholder including tourism and hospitality practitioners, educators and scholars plays an important role in this transition.

 

Therefore, School of Tourism Studies, Mahatma Gandhi University is pleased to announce the 1st Asian Tourism Research Conference 2020 to be held at Mahatma Gandhi University in Online Platform and welcome all delegates.

First Call For Papers

The conference will focus on a broad range of topics related to tourism, hospitality and interrelated fields. The conference secretariat invites papers relevant to the theme of the conference ‘Understanding the Landscape of Asian Tourism’. Papers are invited in the sub themes of:

Abstract Submission

  • Abstracts (typed, double spaced, maximum 500 words) should be submitted for review and selection.

  • Authors should write their name and indicate their affiliation only on the cover page of the abstract.

  • Abstracts must be submitted to the Conference Coordinator (atrcsts@gmail.com) by email attachment. 

  • All the abstracts will be reviewed by the Paper Review Committee and authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full papers.

  • Once the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors must register and present the paper at the Conference.

  • Camera ready versions of the accepted papers will be distributed to all delegates via Conference Proceedings and will be published in the conference websites (with ISBN).

  • Papers designated as the most outstanding in the research theme will receive best paper award categorised as one for general category and one for research scholars.

  • Selected papers will be recommended for publication in Sponsored Journals of the Conference.

Full Papers Submission

  1. Manuscripts submitted to 1st Asian Research Conference 2020 should be original contribution and should not have been previously published nor under consideration for publication elsewhere. Individual and multiple authors are welcome to contribute.

  2. All manuscripts are refereed through a blind review process by at least two academic experts in the particular field of the submitted paper(s) prior to acceptance. The entire review process averages two weeks.

  3. Manuscripts must be written in English.

  4. The abstract should summarize the key points of the paper without exceeding 500 words and, with a maximum of 5 keywords that define the subject matter. 

  5. Manuscripts should be between 5000-5500 words.

  6. All contributions should follow the format and style described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 7th edition).

  7. All manuscripts should be typed in MS WORD format, double-spaced with one-inch margins and using 12-point Times New Roman font (exception of tables 10-point Times New Roman).

  8. Manuscripts should include the following major sections: title page, abstract, main body and references. The title page is the first page and should contain the title of the paper, name of author(s), institutional affiliation, present position and complete address (including telephone/fax and email).

  9. The main body or text should be divided into headings and subheadings. Main headings should be centred on the page and subheadings placed at the left margin.

  10. References should follow the format and style described in APA (7th edition).

  11. Author’s name should not appear anywhere except on the cover page of the manuscript.

Publication Opportunities

All full papers and abstracts submitted to ATRC 2020 will be published in the conference proceeding online with ISBN Number

 

Conference Registration

All presenters and participants are invited to register for the conference. The conference registration fee includes participation in all conference sessions. The registered participants will receive a cisco webex link prior to the conference. Only those attending  80% of the conference will receive a certificate.
